As we celebrate Easter, it is important to highlight the symbolism of Easter in relation to our wellbeing. While we reflect on how the covid situation has adversely impacted so many people mentally, emotionally and physically let us briefly explore the meaning of Easter and how this connects to our spirituality and wellbeing;
MEANING OF EASTER IN A NUTSHELL;
Easter is the season we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ – We remember and celebrate because of what His death represents to us and the significance of His resurrection to our wellbeing; He was the sacrificial lamb, ordained to die so that we may have life. He paid the ultimate price of a painful death so that we may receive life in abundance; Consisting of Health & Healing, Peace, Sound mind and Freedom.
The vital key to receiving these gracious gifts is only to believe and confess His sacrificial act on the cross (Romans 10.9). The following scriptural verses buttress the significance of what Jesus Christ did and its benefit to you;
- Healing: He Himself took our sicknesses and carried our diseases (Matthew 8.17). I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15.26).
- Peace: He was wounded for our transgressions, the chastisement for our peace was on Him and by His stripes we are healed’ (Isiah 53.5). Healing and peace is encompassing and relates to every form of physical, mental and emotional health conditions including addictions.
